Our Guest Speaker, Ms. Ivi Afxenti (BSc Physics,
MSc Physics (Free Electron Lasers),
PhD Candidate (Quantum Photonics)) will give a unique presentation on Quantum photonics.
Quantum Photonics is a field of science and technology that explores the use of quantum properties of light (photons)
for information processing, communication, and computation. It leverages the principles of quantum mechanics,
where light can behave as both a wave and a particle (photon), to develop new technologies
that go beyond the limitations of classical physics. This includes manipulating individual photons
and utilizing phenomena like entanglement and superposition to encode and process information
