This April we were privileged to observe the total solar eclipse with maximum duration in sunny Mexico.
Totality is very impressive, it changes our perception of reality, at the same time it is rare phenomenon.
These two important features of total solar eclipses most probably created the base of faith,
widely spread in human cultures all over the world.
The end of April marks the end of the
Astronomers Without Borders (AWB) - Global Astronomy Month. Mr. George Troullias, the Director of the
KITION PLANETARIUM & OBSERVATORY, is the Cyprus National Coordinator and representative of AWB.
He and his team, suggest a discussion of deep connection of total solar eclipses with the origin of faith,
proposed to a worldwide audience, during an online science café meeting.
All meetings of Science Café sessions are free of charge and everyone can join.
